Schillings, 41 Bedford Square, London WC1

The Project
The period Georgian building was refurbished to provide new office accommodation for Schillings, who relocated from their offices in the West End. The building was originally designed and built as a house, so the challenge was to convert it to office accommodation that would work for a firm of Lawyers.

Client Objectives
To purchase a freehold building to create an investment for the Partners and provide the firm with good quality office space and a new image for their Clients.

Key Facts
The building was in a poor state of repair with issues such as asbestos, leaking roof, poor drainage and wet rot to be dealt with. At the same time, the Client required a new cooling system for the building which was the subject of an application to English Heritage and Camden Council Planning Authorities. New Client facilities are provided via a new reception leading from the front door with meeting rooms located in the period rooms on the Ground Floor.
